Why Why Vote Labour (At least I'm not singing)

I lived through Thatcher and through the Tories,I watched them sink into sleaze and despair,They were losing,As they deceived me I watched them rule Wales without any care. Why, Why, Why, vote ToriesWhy, Why, Why, vote Tories

Then came in Tony and New Labour,Ditching all their socialist values,He stood and promised,
An end to sleaze, poverty and despair.
Why, Why, Why, vote Labour,They made Wales the poorest.
Why, Why, Why, vote Labour
The poorest country in the EU.

Then Blair and Bush invaded Iraq,Told they had weapons of mass destruction,Now that was just a lie,
With thousand of soldiers dying every day.
Why, Why, Why, vote Labour, They made Wales the poorest.
Why, Why, Why, vote Labour
The poorest country in the EU.

I see New Labour are still claiming, John Lewis catalogue, flats and for houses, The odd blue movie,
Didn’t they know "one night in Sweden" was not for the tourists. Why, Why, Why, vote Labour,They made Wales the poorest.
Why, Why, Why, vote Labour
The poorest country in the EU.

Jacqui Smith’s husband: I’m sorry for porn expense claim

I don’t know what is worse Mr Smith and his blue movies or wife Jacqui £22948 claimed in allowances for her second home in 2007-8. While my MP Wayne David claimed about £137,547.
With more than 13million low earners face being squeezed in the recession, according to research published today.

The New Anuerin Glyndwr web site (The closet Labour nationalist)

"This brand new political website is definitely one to watch!"- Rt Hon Rhodri Morgan AM, First Minister for Wales
"I welcome this important new initiative. We must not surrender the internet to our opponents."- Rt Hon Paul Murphy MP, Secretary of State for Wales and Minister for Digital Inclusion

Also endorsed by Peter Hain MP,(with nothing better to do)
Eluned Morgan former MEP (after this year European election) and singer
Alun Davies AM (former nationalist who once called Labour ” the valley mafia”)
Apparently helped by David Taylor (Leighton Andrew AM) Who apparently told conference officials to bundle Walter Wolfgang out he heckled the, then, Foreign Secretary Jack Straw’s speech on the Iraq war.

With the credit crunch, job losses, increasing unemployment, highest poverty, soldiers dying in Iraq and Afghanistan. Some Labour politicians can still have a laugh.

Tony McNulty row: MPs call for £40,000 pay rise

In this era of resession and credit crunch our MPs have demanded a pay rise of up to £40,000 in return for giving up their second homes allowance, following the row over the payments claimed by employment minister Tony McNulty.
As the parliamentary sleaze watchdog launched a full inquiry into members' expenses, senior backbenchers called for the £24,000-a-year allowance to be replaced with an annual salary increase.
The proposed pay rise would boost an MP's basic wage to more than £100,000 from £63,291, at a time when private sector workers are enduring pay freezes. While our nurses and other public workers face a pay freeze. Lets have a referendum to abolish Westminister and develope and give more powers to the Welsh Assembly.

Stop Donating to the Labour party

The unions have donated over £60m to the Labour party in the last 6yrs and in return workers have been treated with disdain by the Labour UK Government. The Labour Party has been in government for 10 years and has done very little to help the workers of Wales. During this time we have seen massive cuts in Welsh manufacturing and a constant barrage of abuse from the Labour leadership towards the unions who need to "modernise or die". If you have had enough of Labour's attitude then you should opt out and stop paying the Labour party.
The Plaid supports the unions and actively encourage our members to join a union. We also value the good political work that unions do and think that it is important that people support the General Political Funds that many unions use to campaign for better equal rights for all workers.
We also believe that union members should have the right to decide for themselves whether or not the Labour party is representing their interests. At the moment many union members do not realise that they are paying money to the Labour party.

Ministers back blind benefit rise

Ministers have agreed to raise disability allowances for blind people, a move which will see thousands up to £1,500 a year better off.
The government will amend the welfare bill currently going through Parliament to extend the higher rate disability allowance to about 26,000 blind people.
More than 220 MPs from all parties signed a Commons motion calling for the move, which will cost £47m a year.
Former cabinet minister David Blunkett described it as a "historic step".

Save The Point. Cardiff

I fully support the campaign to save the Point. It is the best rock and metal venue in Cardiff.

Blame me a bit, says Brown

"I take full responsibility for all my actions", Gordon Brown. You're darn right Wales should blame you Mr Brown, you promised the end to boom and bust and a new beginning of prudence. The Labour party promised to be different but sadly for the people your are just the same as the Tories. Wales could take 10 years to recover from the recession, leading economists suggested yesterday. So why is Wales better off remaining chained to the idea of Britain, when countries smaller and of similar size to Wales will recover from this so called global recession stronger and quicker than Wales. Well the main priority for any London government to to make sure the south east of England recover first and then move the recovery north and west. The sooner Wales are able to go it alone the better.

Big Thanks

Dear Fellow Unionist Friends
I am very grateful for my extra £14,000 a year for my role as "chairman of the House of Commons Committee on Members Allowances". This will be added to my £63,291 salary for a backbencher. Just to make it very clear this is not the reason why I want Wales to remain part of the UK, so that I can continue as a MP.

Thanks
Don Tohig MP

1984 The Miner Strike

"It has been said, 'time heals all wounds.' I do not agree. The wounds remain. In time, the mind, protecting its sanity, covers them with scar tissue and the pain lessens. ... Eleanor Roosevelt. Those words are still relevant today after the 1984-miner strike. Let’s not forget Labour governments closed just as many coal pits as the Tories did. When Tyrone O’Sullivan accused Labour leaders of "hiding" during the bitter 1984 strike how very true. One of the principal reasons for Kinnock’s (the father of New Labour) attacks on the miners was his fear of a rising tide of militancy in the event of miners’ victory – he didn’t want to see militancy pay.
The Tories later admitted that it cost nearly £6bn to win the dispute, which they saw as a political attempt to break the power of the National Union of Mineworkers (NUM). In the ten years following the end of the strike, the continued war against the miners cost a further £26bn in redundancy and benefit payments, keeping pits mothballed and lost revenue from coal. Margaret Thatcher and her cabinet were desperate for victory and prepared to go to any lengths. For the first time in a post-war national strike the police were openly used as a political weapon. Agents provocateurs and spies were deployed and the state benefits system used to try and starve the miners back.
Labour and trade union leaders meekly accepted anti-union legislation and generally abandoned any pretence of struggle against industrial run-down and privatisation. This is why so many companies after years service from loyal staff can up sticks and move to other countries. What are the leaders of the other unions of the time doing now, enjoying their peerages. A yes vote in 1979 could have protected Wales from Thatcher and her Tory government and the same goes for the next yes vote.

Bulldog Lord Mandelson warns Labour Royal Mail rebels

Business secretary Lord Mandelson yesterday warned Labour MP’s and unions to back him and the Labour government over the partial sell-off of Royal Mail – or face losing power to the Conservatives. No doubt he will be relying on his government whips like Wayne David MP to bully the rebel Labour MP’s into submission, as he did when they agreed to close post offices. Well Mandy the Labour party is in a political grave, so stop digging. The Communication Workers Union is threatening to withdraw its £1 million annual donation to the Labour party over the Government's plans to sell-off part of the Royal Mail. Since 2001 the CWU has donated nearly £5 million to the Labour party. Since the last election eight Labour ministers have received CWU donations. This is what your hard earned union subs buy you, a Labour party that as turned its back on socialist values, the hard working low paid men and women of this country.
The battle lines are drawn; who will crack first the unions and rebels or the Labour government. I see peerages being handed out if the government wins this vote.

Sir Fred Goodwin's £16m pension deal

Sir Fred can thank Labour’s Lord Myners for his pension deal. The same Lord Myners, was embroiled in another controversy over a multi-million pound payment during his time as chairman of the Tate Gallery, it has emerged. Following the theft of two Turner masterpieces in 1995, Lord Myners denied point-blank that a ransom had been paid for them when they were recovered in 2002.
It later transpired that the gallery had paid out £3.1m to a German lawyer acting as a middleman for the thieves, and had even gone to the High Court to seek permission to use charitable funds to do so.
